In level 3, the focus is on acquiring smaller amounts of frequent grammatical structures, on reviewing and expanding structures already learned and on all four languages skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Free speech, sophisticated listening comprehension, reading longer texts and the development of essay writing are the main foci of the course. The course will prepare students to pass an internationally recognized exam (Zertifikat Deutsch B1).

Therefore, the course will also familiarize students with the format and requirements of this exam.

The teaching method relates to the communicative language teaching approach, which means that the pragmatic usage of the foreign language in a relevant and modern setting is taught. This approach does not only include giving oral presentations but also includes basic training of academic writing in the foreign language.

All five active and passive language skills are taught: Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening, and Translating.

The course will be taught mostly in German according to the rules of enlightened bilingualism.
